When I was a boy, the communal nude shower after Phys Ed was mandatory. Then that disappeared with the paranoia about pedophiles, and the woke crowd worrying about heavy kids being teased and shame based kids being embarrassed. The smartphone with its easily concealed camera was the final nail in the coffin. It still lives in the military – for now.

Same here. We all took showers together and thought nothing of it. Those were the good old days. No cell phones and no wokness.

Agreed, but I think this fear of nudity started 20-30 years ago. Back when ‘woke’ had its original meaning of ‘having a preternatural store of knowledge of details as to how large systems worked’.
The under-30’s aren’t nearly as freaked out by life in general as the millenials. Maybe there’s hope.

These under-30s are still mentally sequestered about nudity. They are always in compression shorts or similar in locker rooms or even gym showers.
