All around us men are being crushed in divorce with infidelity, false domestic violence accusations, kicked out of their own homes, and their children ripped away from them—but do you see this story told in the news? TV? Movies? You see the ever repeating loop in movies and TV of the guy abusing the woman and her hardships…but do you ever see the true story of the common male experience in America now? No, you don’t. It’s untold. Unheard. Unmentioned. And yet personally we each know many men this happens to. Where all his sacrifice and hard work for years for his family is ignored and he’s kicked into the corner by our legal system and media. The only voices for our story as men is US. Tell your stories. Tell your brother’s stories of mistreatment on social media and in real life to anyone who will listen. Millions are men are crushed every year and virtually nobody in society gives a damn. Use the mouthpiece of social media to tell men’s story and make a difference to save other men pain.

I couldn’t agree more. It’s so unjust. The laws and social norms around divorce are stuck in the past, and there’s absolutely no equality. I had an emotionally abusive wife, and when we split, she made sure to spread lies about me being unfaithful. No one cared to hear my side of the story. It didn’t matter that she was the first to make accusations; the facts didn’t seem to count. And the courts? They almost always side with the woman on support issues and dividing assets. It’s like they don’t even consider the man’s perspective.

It’s a sad reality for sure. I wish there was a way to start a support group / shelter for men. I know I am not the same person I was before the recent divorce….just figuring it out as I go.

I hear you. Men don’t get support when they get divorced. It is a sad state of our society. We need to be there for one another, supporting each other.
