Exploring the Hughes H-4 Hercules (The Spruce Goose) at Evergreen Museum

I checked off an item in my bucket list. My son, a friend, and I visited the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum, home of the Hughes H-4 Hercules A.K.A. “The Spruce Goose” along with more than fifty military and civilian aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, and spacecraft.

The museum complex has four main buildings. The first is the original aviation exhibit hall. Another is a large screen digital theater. There is also a second exhibit hall focused on space technology. Finally, it features a water park.

The water park, as you can see in the picture above, features water slides. These slides start from the plane on the top of the building and end in the pool inside the building.

We spent 6 plus hours on campus we still didn’t have time to see and do everything. Glad they had airline seats along the way to rest. We didn’t get to the water park nor the theater.

We only had 15 minutes in the space museum before they closed for the day. We will definitely have to go back. Thank God it’s only a two hour drive for us.

They even had a launch sequence for you to listen too. It was louder than what the video sounds, it was pretty cool to experience it for sure.

This is definitely a place I would recommend for anybody who wants to experience history. They even have a section of the Berlin Wall that came down in 1989.

All in all, it is a good place to go. Just plan more than one day if you want to see and experience everything.
