It’s been awhile since I have posted here, as life has been busy. My son had his first surgery and a scan afterwards. Unfortunately they found more cancer. So, he is scheduled for another surgery and treatment thereafter making life busy. Truly I am not doing well with this, but have to stay strong for him. This blog, my podcast and riding my motorcycle when I can is my therapy for now.

Sorry again to see your son’s cancer return. A friend of mine in 2007 had thyroid cancer but with hers, they starved her of all iodine foods for a couple of weeks then fed her a radioactive element that targeted all thyroid cells in her body. She had to stay isolated for two weeks if I remember correctly, but she’s been cancer free since that time. You never know. Also the question inevitably arises, what are the radiation sources in his area. The thyroid naturally picks up radiation so it’s apparently a frequent cause of thyroid cancer. I’ve been bouncing around in your posts and I’m stunned at your weight loss. Granted, worrying about your son kills your appetite, but you’re doing other things that are helping you control your weight. Well done!
